Bus Travel
Bus travel is quite possibly the most economic way to travel in the United States. While bus travel in Europe is lacking in popularity due to the great rail system, bus trips in the United States are a common way of spanning the great distances between the states without having to resort to purchasing a plane ticket. In Europe, bus travel is usually only considered useful when commuting in the city – perhaps from home to school or work and back. Choosing bus travel as a mode of transportation between countries is not usually considered a desirable method of travel. In the United States, on the other hand, cheap bus travel makes the travel plans of many students a reality. It does not matter if the bus trip takes them to an adjacent state or halfway across the country in order to follow that favorite band on their summer tour, travel by bus is the most economical way for those who cannot afford to fly or travel by car. Some students have actually found that it pays to band together and charter bus trips to the destinations of their choice.
Such a charter bus trip permits them a bit more freedom with respect to destination and also stops along the way. Other reasons to engage in bus travel are the tours that operators usually conduct in buses. Bus tour trips in Michigan are a great attraction for many, especially seniors, and organizers will often play bus trip games and hand out little prizes.
For those who enjoy the thrill of the gaming table, bus travel has long become synonymous with being a way to visit the local – or not so local - casino without having to worry about drinking and driving, or being too tired to drive home after a full day of fun. Casino bus trips to Louisiana and Atlantic City are quite popular, and some will hop on a bus bound for Foxwoods’ casino. Trips such as this mode of bus travel have elevated commuting from trips in New York City via bus travel to indistinct directions received at a street corner to a leisurely activity that is done on a whim or as a planned outing.
